Tennessee lawmakers lose committee assignments after storming state Capitol

Three Tennessee state lawmakers, all Democrats, were pulled from their committee assignments and could face expulsion from the legislature after they participated in storming the state Capitol during a protest against guns following last week’s school shooting. Tennessee House Republicans voted Monday to strip committee assignments from state Reps. Justin Jones, Justin J. Pearson and Gloria Johnson, according to WPLN.

Roy McGrath, former Gov. Hogan staffer and FBI fugitive, shot dead during standoff with police

Roy McGrath, a chief of staff of former two-term Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan turned fugitive who has been on the run from the FBI and federal officials for weeks, is now dead, his attorney said.  Attorney Joseph Murtha confirmed in a statement to Fox News that his client is dead after succumbing to gunshot injuries following a standoff with police late Monday night.  During the standoff, at least one FBI agent fired a weapon and McGrath was injured.

Democratic senator says he will hold Biden admin ‘accountable’ for China gathering intel in spy balloon flight

A Democratic senator said on Monday that China intended to invade the airspace over the U.S. when a balloon traversed over the country for days in February, and he plans to hold the Biden administration accountable. Sen. Jon Tester, D-Mont., turned to social media on Monday after reading an article from NBC that said the Chinese spy balloon collected intelligence from multiple military sites in the U.S.
