Gavin Newsom’s office fails to provide proof of Florida college book ban claimed by California governor

California Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom took aim at a Florida college that he called “ground zero” for what Republicans want to do to education nationwide. The progressive champion singled out the Sarasota-based New College of Florida, whose board of trustees was revamped by Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, in a Wednesday message to his 2 million Twitter followers. Newsom said the institution is banning books, among other allegations of limiting speech.

Republican expelled from state House for inviting conspiracy theorist to committee hearing

A Republican member of Arizona’s House of Representatives was expelled Wednesday following a bipartisan vote to oust her for inviting a conspiracy theorist to testify at a February committee hearing on election integrity. The Republican-controlled body voted 46-13 to pass HR 2003 and remove Rep. Liz Harris for violating House ethics rules by inviting Jacqueline Breger to the hearing who made claims of criminal activity she said were perpetrated by Democratic Gov.

Manchin leads bipartisan delegation to Ukraine along with country music star Brad Paisley

U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.V., led a bipartisan delegation to Ukraine and Poland on Wednesday, and brought along country music star Brad Paisley. Manchin’s office said the delegation consisted of Sens. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, and Mark Kelly, D-Ariz. The group discussed several topics with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian leaders, including the country’s energy security, military readiness, accountability of foreign assistance, and the rebuild of Ukraine.

San Francisco Mayor London Breed defends city as safe after violent, deadly attacks

San Francisco Mayor London Breed defended her city during a tense interview following criticism that the city has become too dangerous because of progressive policies after a tech executive was stabbed to death last week, and a former fire commissioner was brutally attacked.  Breed, a Democrat, was speaking with FOX San Francisco when she said reports surrounding the death of Cash App founder Bob Lee were “inaccurate.
