Staffing typically reserved for inspecting thousands of vehicles daily will be diverted to assist with the care, transport, and processing of 10,000 mostly Haitian migrants currently detained under the Del Rio International Bridge.
Many hotels and motels in downtown McAllen, Texas, bustled with migrants on Saturday who had been recently released by Border Patrol officials. Medical personnel checked on many of the migrants on the hotel grounds.

The source, speaking on a condition of anonymity, expressed frustration at the misplacement of Border Patrol resources in the southwest. According to the source, nearly 900 migrants per day eluded apprehension nationwide over the last two weeks.
