Sen. Cardin breaks silence after staffer allegedly fired over sex tape filmed in hearing room

Sen. Ben Cardin, D-Md., has broken his silence after one of his staffers was allegedly fired over a sex tape filmed in a Senate hearing room.  “I was angry. I was disappointed,” Cardin told Fox News earlier Monday when speaking about the scandal. “It’s a breach of trust.”  Cardin would not name the staffer in question, only saying it was a “personnel issue.

Hunter Biden given date for initial court appearance in California on tax charges

Hunter Biden will make his initial appearance in a California federal court on nine tax-related charges on Jan. 11, 2024. Biden will appear before Magistrate Judge Alka Sagar at 1 p.m., according to the Central District of California’s court calendar. The court is located in Los Angeles. During an initial court hearing, defendants learn more about their rights and charges against them, according to the Justice Department’s website.

NYC Mayor Adams migrant crisis will lead to ‘extremely painful’ budget cuts; doesn’t expect feds to help

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said Sunday that city officials will need to make “extremely painful” cuts in the budget next year as the effect of the migrant crisis on the Big Apple was bigger than thought, and federal help with the crisis is not coming through. Adams spoke with host Dan Mannarino on WPIX-TV’s “PIX on Politics” on Sunday, who asked the mayor if the migrant crisis was a curveball to the city.
